Making Sense of the U.S. AI Toolkit: What It Means for Educators Using Moodle in the Philppines
Course Description:
Artificial intelligence (AI) in education is complex and rapidly evolving, with little to no consensus among individuals in terms of perspectives on using AI, which has serious implications for all members of educational communities. To this end, in 2024, the U.S. Department of Education (Department) issued AI Toolkit to help educational leaders make critical decisions about incorporating AI applications into student learning and the instructional core, providing definitions and illustrations of broad classes of opportunities, along with explaining key tensions and risks of including AI. This presentation is an elucidation on the AI Toolkit and draws out practical insights for Moodle-based teaching in the Philppines and beyond.
